Euric has been out of view for quite awhile - before his disappearance, he was well-documented in 16th-century Spain, then in the West Indies until an earthquake in Port Royal had some thinking he'd been destroyed when his haven suffered. Around the turn of the millennium he resurfaced, claimed old wealth, and has spent the last decade or so re-assimilating into the modern world. There are rumors that Euric might be even older than his 16th-century history makes him, but the wide variety of places in which people claim he's been active suggest those rumors are false, perhaps even started by the vampire himself to spread false perceptions of age and power.
On November 12, 2013, Euric claimed the Chicago Pack as his own. In specific, he named the werewolf Emily as his Housecarl - bodyguard, secretary, and personal assistant all in one. Whether or not she is Marked is unclear.
On November 21, 2013, Euric accepted the Blood Oath of V. Lissa, proprietor of the Lissa's Rest line of hotels, granting protection to her person and her property and holdings in exchange for unknown boons from Lissa. His announcement specified that he did not seek to claim the title of Master of the City, but that he felt the younger and less powerful of the vampires in the city deserved an option for formal protection.
On November 30th, Euric was challenged by V. Grayson who contested his authority to take the Oaths of vampires without claiming the title of Master of the City. In front of an audience of other vampires, Euric accepted the Oath of V. Grayson at the end of challenge, as documented in the log Closing a Circle.
In early December, Euric began work on opening Vollmond Security, a company which aims to provide preternatural or highly skilled security to high-paying customers.
