Description

Gates Hall is one of the University of Chicago's co-ed dormitories, much like the Snell-Hitchcock dorms. The lobby here is decorated modestly, with off-white stucco on the walls, hard-wood floors, and a few potted trees taking up the corners. To the right of the entrance lie a couple of couches, arranged in an 'L;' to the left is a small room with open counter where the resident hall director pulls duty. Directly opposite of the entrance lies a straight hallway, this leading to the first floor rooms, and a stairway to the right of this leads up to the second floor rooms. A door on the far side of the building leads to Hyde Park, allowing easy travel between the two dorms.
