Jose recently moved to Chicago to care for his daughter. He's is separated from his wife and recently left the military. He turned the chaos into an opportunity however, by launching a private security firm. His company, JV security, seems to be doing well.
Through his company he is licensed to carry a firearm, at least when on duty, and seems to do so fairly often.

On a personal note he is a regular at the shooting range and goes to church nearly every Sunday.
