All characters have nine stats that fall under three headings…
Physical | Mental | Perception |
---|---|---|
Muscle | Logic | Senses |
Fitness | Creativity | Observation |
Reflexes | Willpower | Memory |
- To compare to d20, our 1-30 range is almost equal to d20's 1-25 range (the lower numbers match, but our 25 is like a d20 23, our 30 is like a d20 25).
- To compare to FUDGE, our 4 is Poor, our 7 is Mediocre, 10 is Fair, 15 is Good, 23 is Great, 34 is Superb, 50 is Legendary.
- To compare to WoD/Exalted, each dot is around 5 or 6 of our points.
Physical, Mental, and Perception are not stats, but instead an average of the three stats that comprise each. Those with Preternatural ability also have a 'Power' rating. Please see 'news power'
For help on the Wounds and Drain lines, consult +hurt & +health and +drain. The number of Wounds one can sustain before death is equal to Fitness+Muscle+5, while the amount of Drain one can sustain before going comatose is Willpower+40.
Stat meanings
Muscle
The muscle statistic is a reflection of your raw physical strength. A person with a high muscle stat would be physically fit with well defined muscle tone. This does not, however, represent a persons endurance or their agility. Below is a chart representing what a person would be able to do.
Muscle | |
---|---|
1- 7 | Housecats probably push you around |
8-12 | Human level. Average human is at a 10 |
13-20 | Weekend athletes, those who exercise |
21-30 | World class athletes. Absolute human max is 30 |
31-40 | Can benchpress cars. Shapeshifters and vampires. |
41-50 | Ludicrously strong. This is rare. |
- For a rough estimate of what you can lift, please check '+lift'.
- The product of your Fitness and Muscle shows roughly how many pounds you can tote. Half of that can be lifted for a while, twice that can just be dragged around.
- The number of Wounds one can sustain before death is equal to Fitness+Muscle+5.
Reflexes
The reflexes stat describes how quick and agile a person is. A person with high enough reflexes could move faster than the eye could see or even dodge bullets. Below is a chart to help determines where your characters reflex level should be.
Reflexes | |
---|---|
1- 7 | Stairs might be tricky. |
8-12 | Normal Human. Average human is at 10 |
13-20 | Quicker than the average, sprinters etc. |
21-30 | Olympic Gymnasts/Sprinters. absolute human max. 30 |
31-40 | Can move quicker than the eyes can follow |
41-50 | Metaphorically faster than a speeding bullet |
- For a rough estimate of how fast you can run, please check '+run'.
- The sum of your Fitness and Reflexes, divided by 2.5 = miles per hour one can run (roughly). Half of that number is yards per second.
Fitness
Fitness is the stat that represents your relative health and endurance. A person with a high fitness stat would be able to run marathons or less susceptible to getting colds or suffering from seasonal allergies. Below is a chart to help determine where your character's fitness level should be.
Fitness | |
---|---|
1- 7 | Sickly and easily exhausted. |
8-12 | Human level. Average human is at a 10 |
13-20 | Get fewer colds, able to exert for hours |
21-30 | Olympic class athlete, absolute human max. 30 |
31-40 | Can heal injuries like the wind. |
41-50 | Can exert almost tirelessly for a day straight. |
- For a rough estimate of how fast you can run, please check '+run'.
- The sum of your Fitness and Reflexes, divided by 2.5 = miles per hour one can run (roughly). Half of that number is yards per second.
Logic
The logic stat reflects how well your character can piece together a mystery, or scientific solutions and the like.

21-30 | Mathematician - 30 is human maximum |

8-12 | Normal Human. Average human is at 10 |
13-20 | Better than average, can create well. |
21-30 | Great artist - 30 is human maximum |

Willpower
The willpower stat determines how much resistance your character has to mental attacks and challenges. It also determines pain resistance and courage.

---|---|
1- 7 | You pick up the phone before the commercial is over. |
8-12 | Normal Human. Average human is at 10 |
13-20 | Better than average. Police officer. |
21-30 | Well trained soldier. Human maximum is 30 |
31-40 | Can resist almost every kind of torture. |
41-50 | Pain means virtually nothing, mental attacks are no big concern. |
If you have Power and your Power is greater than your Willpower, it often means that your "Preternatural Side" has more oomph than you can control. For a lycanthrope, this means having a hard time acting and looking human. For a vampire, this means you've begun to slip towards becoming a Revenant. For a magic/psychic human, you're probably going nuts. For a fae, it just means you act extra-specially strange. For Necromancers and Animators, roadkill and some foods are a little more active than they should be.

31-40 | Metaphorical nose of bloodhound, eyes of a hawk, ears of a bat, etc.. |
41-50 | Could possibly say what the cow that made the cream in their coffee ate |
