East and West meet here in this restaurant. One is greeted in the small foyer of the restaurant by a hostess dressed in a traditional kimono where custom calls one to leave their shoes in a slot offered for their convenience. Depending on your dining preference, one can be taken either to the left side of the restaurant where seating is more in the Japanese style of a low table with three flat pillows to each side to kneel on, or to the right, where there are tables and chairs set in the more Western style of seating. Walls are painted beige, though red is a predominate accent color throughout the place. Private rooms can be made by the movement of screens made of wood and rice paper to divide the rooms.
To the back, and open to both sides, resides a sushi bar with clear windows to watch the artistic chefs at work as they create your meal. In another section, there are hibachi grill tables where one can sit and watch your food prepared right before your very eyes by chefs who have studied for several years in Japan, learning how to wield sharp knives and master the witty repartee much to your enjoyment.
